Gary Fisher

The First and Last Name in Mountain Bikes

Gary was a busy man this year. He tapped into the minds of his top pro racers and translated his own long hours in the saddle to come up with a stable of race-ready bikes and new designs. His crowning achievement of 2000 - the introduction of a new full-suspension platform, Sugar. As expected, the Fisher line also includes a bevy of racing hardtails for everyone from world champions to weekend warriors. The unorthodox, yet well-received X-caliber makes a return this year with the addition of a lower-priced kin.

Whether it’s Sugar, long-travel hardtails, or racing hardtails, the heart of the Fisher line remains Genesis Geometry. It’s what separates high-end Fisher bikes from all others. The short and stiff chainstays perpetuate efficient climbing, a long top tube positions the center of gravity for confident descending and a short stem navigates with precision. This sounds simple, but has proven to make a big difference. Genesis makes riding a mountain bike a bit easier, safer and more fun. Genesis also makes going faster easier, and that's changed the way the race world builds bikes. But only Fisher made it available to everyone, simply because it works for everyone. Read on...
