7 Tips for buying your first or next ride

Step 1 - Know what you want. In other words, decide how you want to ride.
Before anything else, the first thing you have to decide is how you want to ride. Road or mountain? Morning commutes or weekend getaways? If you are not sure, later you can proceed to our Bikes section for a brief explanation for each type of bike.

There are different bikes for different types of riding. Finding the right bike for you starts with choosing the riding category that best suits your style.

Step 2 - Find a good dealer.
There's no better place to find the right bike than an authorised dealer. Pick a store where you feel comfortable and one that offers you options. If you are not getting the help you need, there's sure to be another dealer who'll go out of their way to serve you.

Treknology Bikes 3 is an authorised dealer for major bike brands as well as bike accessories with an extensive variety in stock. Our Sales Executives and Tech Centre Mechanics are knowledgeable and experienced enough to answer your every query in order to help find the ideal bike for you. We are proud of our excellent service record.

Step 3 - Check the specs. Choose a frame that's right for you.
About 70% of how a bike rides is determined by the frame. Because the material a frame's made of, how it's designed and how it's crafted impacts efficiency, comfort and handling. After the frame, the wheels, suspension and drive train components, in that order, have the most effect on how a bike rides and performs.

Once you decide what kind of bike you want, work with us to find the model and size that fits you best.

Step 4 - Get fitted. Take a test ride.
The best way to get a feel for a bike is to spend some time in the saddle. Our staff will adjust the seat height and handlebars before you head out. It's a good idea to test ride three bikes before deciding which one you want to take home.

Take a couple rides on your new bike, chances are you'll need to do a little more fine-tuning of the fit. If your knees hurt, adjust the saddle height or placement. If your lower back hurts or your shoulders get tight, adjust the reach to the handlebars. If you do not adjust the bike when it feels slightly off, your body will adjust instead and it could cause longer term problems.

Step 5 - Ask questions.
If there's anything you don't understand, don't be afraid to speak up. That's what our Sales Executives and Tech Centre Mechanics are there for. You may also want to check out reviews or get opinions from other cyclists (who frequent our stores).

Step 6 - Buy what you like.
When you've done your homework, choosing the bike that's right for you is easy. Just go with the one that really makes you want to get out and ride, without going over your budget. Take time with our Sales Executive or Tech Centre Mechanic, and double check to ensure the bike you select is the right size and is properly adjusted to give you maximum performance and comfort.

Step 7 - Select the right accessories
The right accessories, along with right bike, make cycling safe and fun.
