Bontrager wheelsystems are no mere collection of parts. Starting from scratch, each component is meticulously designed to be lighter, stronger and better handling than "stock" wheels. As light as possible, our hubs withstand real-world race testing for proven durability. Flanges are carefully laid out minimizing dish in rear wheels and the front Race Disk. Each wheelsystem embodies years of rim design and manufacturing experience. In fact, there are only two precision extrusion houses in the country that meet our strict tolerance requirements.

Start with our Race Lite Rim at 375g in the front and 390 for the rear. We drill the rear rim asymmetrically, increasing drive side dish, resulting in an easily tensionable spoke lace and 20% more strength. The Cermet ceramic braking surface is machined tall and increasingly thicker toward the outer edge. Our patented pinned welding process allows this rim to withstand abuse that folded competitors similar lightweight rims.
Precision bearing Bontrager hubs are joined to the Race Lite Rim with Swiss made DT Revolution spokes, alloy nipples and Race Lite skewers.

Actually contributing to a stronger wheel, hub flange spacing maximizes spoke bracing angle and improves lateral strength and stiffness. Angular contact bearings provide better axial and radial axle support. Alloy oversized axle and end nuts improve front end stiffness in suspension forks. The rear hub uses a large diameter drive-side flange for improved wheel dish and lateral strength. Rims are welded and machined, featuring ASYM design offset spoke beds, minimizing wheel dish and tension disparity.
Each is equipped with KB-designed Race QR skewers.

Super light XC racing wheels designed to work with disc brake systems. Hubs use KB's Angular Contact semi-cartridge bearing design for smooth running precision and longer lasting axle components. Rims use ASYM design technology for less dish in both front and rear wheels.
